I wanted to give this five stars, but the story just... ended. I feel kind of empty and my tummy hurts not getting a full resolution. Even saying that - I really loved this book. And George. Samantha was probably the first female YA character I've read in a while that didn't make me want to strangle her. I'm so glad she stood up to her mother and Clay. I love that Tim turned out to be somewhat of a hero, IMO. Nan was a bit of a let down, but was such a well-written, real character. Her own shame and fears really added more to this story. Oh, and kept waiting for Senator Reed to start yelling, "NO WIRE HANGERS!" How Sam turned out so well with a crazy ass mom like that, I'll never know.
